Intensive Therapy Programs
Apraxia Dallas is pleased to offer Intensive Therapy Programs individualized for your child's needs. Programs can consist of days and/or weeks and a variety of session lengths. For children that are not local to the DFW area, intensive therapy programs include a short evaluation at the beginning to determine treatment goals, plus a treatment plan and meeting to discuss future treatment plans with Breanna. Camps
Apraxia Ranch Camps
Co-hosted by Apraxia Austin and Apraxia Dallas

Once again Apraxia Dallas and Apraxia Austin will be offering intensive apraxia camps this summer. The camps will be at G-Bar Llano ranch in Valley Spring, TX (1.5 hours northwest of Austin).
WHAT:
Each camp session will be three days and three nights at the ranch for students and one of their parents or grandparents. Sessions can also include your own SLP.
Camp includes the following:
20 individual 30-minute therapy sessions with volunteer speech-language pathologists with specialized knowledge and training in CAS.
In between therapy hours the participants will be doing outdoor fun activities each day such as rock climbing, swimming, truck rides on the ranch, creek wading, making SMOREs over the fire pit, etc. Even during these activities, correct use of targeted speech behaviors will be encouraged.
This is a residential camp and accommodations will be included. The ranch house used for the families has both private rooms with private baths and a bunkroom for 4 with a shared bath. The SLPs will stay at the hunter’s cabin a bit up the road.
Also included are breakfast, lunch, & dinner first 2 full days; last day only breakfast and lunch.
Parent training and sharing meetings each night
This is a great opportunity to learn how to help your child use his/her correct speech skills throughout the day in life’s normal activities in the context of a fun camp experience.
WHERE:
The ranch house and cabin located on 1280 acres at G-Bar Llano Ranch. (Approximately 1 ½ hours northwest of Austin or 4 hours southwest of Dallas).
WHO:
Elementary school-age children (5 years old to 10 years old) who have been diagnosed and have been receiving treatment for Childhood Apraxia of Speech and one parent/grandparent. Sessions can also include your own SLP, public or private.
We are strongly encouraging families to bring their own SLP with them, so that person can learn more about the treatment of CAS. Please contact us for more information.
A maximum of 5 students will be accepted for each session of camp.

Summer Social Groups for 2020
When: 6, 1 hour sessions once per week - 3 weeks in June and 3 weeks in July. Exact meeting times for each group to be determined by group participants.
Where: Apraxia Dallas' new location - 4220 Proton Rd, Suite 165, Dallas
Who: Children with communication disorders (including but not limited to CAS, phonological processing, and articulation), ages pre-K through middle school. Groups will be composed of 3-5 children and led by 1-2 speech-language pathologists. The focus will be on interacting with peers both verbally and non-verbally, plus learning social-emotional strategies. Pre-verbal children are welcome!
